Intro: 5Ws
In term 1 we had Fiafia, and it was outside under Te Kapua. We got to see everyone’s dance performances and even perform ourselves. We had to go because we were going to see everyone’s cultural dances they do and also fun ones like hiphop. Our whole school went and including the parents.
Paragraph 1
Getting ready to go back to school, arriving there and getting ready.
Paragraph 2
Our last practice. Getting changed and putting on the stuff we will wear.
Paragraph 3
Watching everybody perform before it was our turn. Seeing what everyone has practiced for at least 5 weeks.
Conclusion
I was scared, nervous, excited, and also there were butterflies in my stomach.
Now that you have finished your plan, start writing your story. Don’t forget:
Who, what, when, where, why to introduce the event.
Write it in an order of events.
Be descriptive, share as many details as you can.
Use correct sentence punctuation, and try experimenting with others.
Group your ideas into paragraphs.

Start your writing here:
→In term 1 I was getting ready to go to school for fiafia (April). We had fiafia and our whole school was there. Our journey was a crazy one.
Fiafia is where we go to school in the late afternoon and perform a dance we have learnt for the past 5 weeks. We had it outside under Te Kapua at night and even the parents came. I had to get ready to go back to school because we needed to rush, we were in a hurry. Everybody from our school all needed to go on that night because if there are only a few people you won’t be able to have a big group.
Paragraph 1:
In term 1 we had Fiafia and I was a bit scared. I was at home practicing my dance on the TV for the last time before we left. As I was practicing my dance I realized that I’m gonna have to remember it because I needed to perform it on the stage. I was very scared because there was a few hundred people going to see my dance. When I finished practicing we only had an hour left before we went back to school so my nan did my hair. I was finished doing that so then I waited until it was time to go. On my way back to school I saw families walking around to go back to school as well. I was very nervous because I knew that those people were all going to be watching us and they were going to be judging our performance. It was beginning to get dark a bit outside and the sun was barely setting.
Paragraph 2:
Even though I live close to school it felt like I was going to be late because of the butterflies in my stomach. When we got out of the car in the distance I saw food stands. There was a cold breeze in the air and I knew we were going to have to perform on a really cold night. As we walked I saw kids in some of their uniforms they were wearing and it was very nice clothes because they were going to perform in them. I was very scared but then when I went inside the breeze I saw my friends and we went to go and play before it was time to go to get changed. We were walking around the school trying to find our other friends and they were just arriving. Most of my friends were in the Samoan group so they all left pretty early and I went with my other friend in the Niuean group. We were both waiting outside to let the teacher open the door. The door opened and then we went to get changed into our uniform. Everyone was wearing a white t-shirt and a black & yellow, designed lavalava. Everyone in my group went inside the bathrooms and we all finished. After everybody was in their uniform we had our last practice before we went outside.
Paragraph 3:
After we went on stage I was nervous and I was also very scared. I saw very blurry vision and also it was very dark because of how late it was. I saw kids cheering and people coming up to put money in the jar for our performance.
Conclusion.
Nervous, scared, excited, afraid and also a bit happy.
