This is…Italian Music!: Making our own song

This term for extension we have been working on making our own piece of music from a different country. The whole extension class all had to choose a different country to make music from and I picked Italy. I wrote all about what Italian music is and my opinion on it as well.

We made our piece of music in Garageband. In my song I tried searching up instruments that are from Italy so I could put the instrument in my song. In the end it sounded very good but I found it challenging to make Italian music so I think I did well. In my Research presentation I included: details, and a bunch of things that I know about this type of music. I chose Italy because I know it has very detailed and descriptive kind of music so I wanted my song to be detailed. Italy is a very known Country and I chose to do it so people would be very familliar with people and they will like it. I think Italian music sounds like a it romantic but then the other kind of sound it has is disco kind because it is energetic, and then it is like romantic beats. I really enjoyed makng it becaause I ried putting a lot of effort into it and I tried making it sound like a mix of disco and romance.Italy is the birthplace of opera, and a major influence on classical music, inventing many instruments like the piano and violin. Italian folk music is also a vital part of its culture, with diverse regional styles and influences from neighboring countries. Regional diversity: Italy has a rich tradition of folk music with styles, instruments, and dances varying significantly by region. Regional influences: Northern folk music can show Celtic influence, while southern folk music has more Greek, Arab, and African influences.Modern pop: Italian popular music incorporates global genres like rock, hip-hop, and electronic dance music.Birthplace of opera: Italy is the birthplace of opera, which developed in the 17th century and has spread worldwide.Classical music hub: It’s considered the birthplace of Western classical music, with Renaissance and Baroque periods producing composers like Claudio Monteverdi and Antonio Vivaldi.Instrument invention: Many musical instruments were invented in Italy, including the piano (by Bartolomeo Cristofori), the double bass (by Gasparo Da Salo), and the violin.

(On Research presentation)
Here are some instruments I used:
The Violin: The Violin originated in Italy in the early 16th century. The Italian tradition of violin making is highly respected, they put high quality into playing music like the famous artists. The Cello: The cello was created around the 1550s in Northern Italy. Italy has remained a a center for cello making. Andrea Amati is credited as the first to gain recognition for making cellos. The Harp: The Harp is Italians most strongly associated with string instruments like a type of accordion. the triple harp is a type of harp that has Italian origins.Piano: Piano’s were invented by Bartolomeo Cristofori in Italy around 1709. The piano was created to give the musician more control over volume.Guitar: The Italian word for guitar is chitarra, and a instrument that relates to it is the mandolin, they are very in common. My feelings on making this was worried because I didn’t know the types of sounds to include and use.

12345678 Challenge: On Beat

This week we were learning to counting by beat using the 12345678 challenge. It is a famous challenge of where you have to say it all on the beat of the song. Example: 12345678, 2345678, 345678, 456678, 5678, 678 ,78 ,8. You can also do it back wards if you want to make it more harder but I just sticked to saying it normally. We did this because we didn’t know how to be on beat so this helped us learn the beats. We know how to be on beat now. Watch my video so you can try and do it aswell!

Beat Boxing Challenge

Yesterday me and my friends paired up and made our own beat box. We made it short so it was easier to say and we did very good! We were all gonna do it at a different time but we realised it was too hard so we all did it at the same time to make it more louder and easier. We worked on it together and we succeeded in the end!

Summer Taha Whanau animation

For this term we were learning about the four pillars of Te Whare Tapa Wha. We had to draw one of the pillars to show what it means and the pillar I chose was Taha Whanau. Taha Whanau is all about your social well-being and how you communicate with people like your family and friends or even different people. for my drawing I had drawn all of the important people to me and I put them in thinking bubbles. Please check out my animation and I hope that you like it.

Summer Taha Whānau

Yesterday, we were making a brainstorm all about our family. We could either draw them or draw things that describe them, I drew their cultures which means I am also basically those cultures. Taha Whanau means Family & Social this means socializing with your family members. Check out my drawing I did on photopea and my brainstorm. Make sure to leave a positive comment on my blog! ;0

Taha Hinengaro Vision Board

Today we are learning Taha Hinengaro. To look after out Taha Hinengaro, we need to have strong minds and control our emotions. To do this we have to let our brain control our emotions so that we can have strong minds. We can use qoutes to make ourselves feel up instead of down. Quotes makes you inspired and feel happy. When you listen to your favourite singer it makes you feel calm and relaxed. Here is my photo I have made and I hope that you like it.

Today we are writing about Taha Wairua, which means the mental and well-being of yourself. On the last slide we write about ourselves and who we are. Ms Tumahi wrote about herself as well and she gave us an example for us to write about yourself. There were words on one page that we could use to describe about ourself. Here is my task and I hope that you will like to see what I have said about myself.
